This is the story of how clinicians and scientists at the university are leveraging 75 years of genetic discovery at U of U Health-- utilizing the world’s largest population database , 100 million lives that connect patients with family members they didn’t even know they have to discover more than 40 disease- causing genes and create new preventions, tests and treatments for some of the world’s most debilitating diseases. And it is the story of the people who decode that DNA to find the rare mutations that define an illness. It’s an emotional epic wrapped in mystery that will illuminate the incredible work of University of Utah’s Center for Genomic Innovation and help bring it to the wider world..
